The Hogue Singletree - The Ultimate Gambrel | ||||||||||||||||||||||
The patent on this gambrel proves that most anything can be improved on and advanced, even something as common as a gambrel. The gambrel we used for decades was simply a piece of 1" pipe with j-bolts in the ends and a u-bolt in the middle. We must have skinned a thousand deer with that thing over the years. But looking at it, we knew there was a whole lot better way to do it. To view the official patent on the United States Patent Office website click here. We're currently out of town so purchasing capabilities have been temporarily disabled. $42.00 plus shipping (sorry shipping is so expensive) Benefits of The Hogue Singletree: - You can hang an entire animal (or one quarter) on a single hook without it falling off. So, you'll never drop an animal or a hind quarter in the dirt again! - The animal will stay in position on the gambrel hooks. The hooks cannot be forced through the leg nor will the animal fall off- the hooks float with the angle the animal is hanging! - You can hang the deer by the Achilles' tendon at the ankle and get the gambrel completely out of the way of the skinning process. All other gambrels require hanging the animal at the knee, right in the way of where the skinning process begins! - The wide adjustability of the spreader bar lets you spread the hind legs abundantly to aid splitting the pelvic bone, evisceration, or especially if you split the carcass in half down the backbone. - You need a slice no bigger than an average pocket knife to insert hooks. There's no need for a huge hole like what's required for most gambrels. - The animal's legs can be spread with the adjustable spreader bar after inserting hanger hooks through the legs. This makes it easier when you're alone or the animal is already stiff. - The Hogue Singletree is required with the Hogue Skinning System, the next really big thing!! Features: - 12 inches of spreader bar length adjustability from 21 inches to 33 inches in |
